Ingredients
* 1 ½ pounds stewing beef
* 1 ½ cups of mushrooms
* 1 large chopped onion
* ⅔ cup low sodium beef broth
* ⅓ cup flour
* ½ teaspoon garlic powder
* ½ teaspoon of pepper
* ½ teaspoon paprika
* ½ teaspoon of salt
* 2 tablespoons of butter
* 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
* 3 sprigs of fresh Thyme
* Sauce:
* ½ cup sour cream
* 1 pot of beef jus
* 2 teaspoons cornstarch
* Other:
* 8 ounces dry egg noodles
* 1 tbsp parsley
Instructions
FIRST STEP:
Preheat oven 300*
In bowl, combine flour & seasonings
SECOND STEP:
Trim the fat from the beef pieces and mix lightly into the flour mixture
Heat the butter and oil in a large skillet
THIRD STEP:
Add the beef with the flour and fry until a crispy coating forms
In a 9 x 13 baking dish, add the beef, onions, mushrooms, thyme and beef broth
FOURTH STEP:
Cover with foil and bake for 2 hours until beef is fork tender
Then combine sour cream, sauce and cornstarch in a bowl, set aside
FIFTH STEP:
Cook the noodles for two minutes less than the time suggested on the package
Remove the beef from the oven and heat to 350*
STEP SIX:
Remove thyme sprigs from skillet, stir in egg noodles and sauce mixture.
Baking for 15 min to hot and bubbly
