Donuts




* Ingredients : 

°2 cups self-rising flour
°3/4 cup sugar
°1/2 teaspoon of salt
°200ml buttermilk
°2 tablespoons rapeseed oil
°2 eggs
°1 tablespoon lemon juice
°1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
°grated zest of 1 lemon
°6 tablespoons butter, melted, for dipping

preheat the oven to 200c. spray 2 nonstick 6-hole donut trays with cooking spray. (I used silicones)
in a large bowl, combine the flour, salt and sugar, then stir in the remaining ingredients until just combined.
divide batter evenly between donut trays. should be just over 3/4 full.
cook 7 to 9 minutes or until golden brown and springing back to the touch.
Leave to cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet then unmold on the oven rack.
dip one side of the donut in the butter then in the lemon sugar.

°3/4 cup sugar
°grated zest of 1 lemon

*REMARK:

the silicone trays are a bit smaller than normal donut trays. I got 16 donuts from the recipe
